Bad luck follows HB Racing. After a successful qualifying for the start number seven, a solid first half of the race with improving positions followed. Shortly after the race comes to an end for the team. Also the Huracán GT3 of Christopher Zanella wasn’t able to complete the stint.
After a good start in which the Lamborghini Huracán GT3s progressed to P8 and P20, the positions kept on being improved. Twelve minutes into the race, the first drop out. Christopher Zanella spun and finally had to park his car on the start-finish-straight. Norbert Siedler came out of the Safety Car Phase on position seven and entered the pit lane with 33 remaining minutes to hand over the car to his team colleague. Factory driver Marco Mapelli lost a couple of positions and came into the box shortly after. A broken oil cooler finished the race early.
The motto for Sunday is clear – New day, new luck. The second qualifying of the ADAC GT Masters is scheduled for 8:30. Florian Spengler and Marco Mapelli will then push on the gas pedal.
