Marco Mapelli and Norbert Siedler put their Lamborghini on P4. Christopher Zanella and Florian Spengler improved continuously, but were taken out by car number 8 during the last lap and therefore couldn’t finish the race.
There was a lot of action on Sunday in Oschersleben! Starting from P4, Norbert Siedler and Marco Mapelli entered the race. The 60 minutes had a lot of safety car phases. Christopher Zanella and Florian Spengler improved their pace but were taken out by Audi number 25 with 18 minutes to go. They were able to fight their way back but due to a mistake of Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky during the last lap, they couldn’t finish.
Shortly before the end of the race Marco Mapelli tried to overtake Porsche number 99 but had to stay on P4. A great result for the Austrian Team that had to face some issues on Friday. “The weekend didn’t start good. We were surprised to find ourselves in the back part of the grid. From Saturday till Sunday the team worked hard to improve the performance. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to show my full capabilities due to the many safety car phases after the driver change. But I’m sure that the Lamborghini is compatible with the rest of the field”, says factory driver Marco Mapelli.
From May 19 to 20 the ADAC GT Masters goes into round three and four at Lausitzring.
