Big plans for the next season

The new season is almost here and HB Racing is ready to go with an even bigger plan. Following the successful debut with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in the previous season, the team from Neumarkt enlarges its motorsport program. Besides competing in the ADAC GT Masters also the Blancpain GT Series will be part of the plan.

In 2016 HB Racing used the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 for the first time in the ADAC GT Masters and was able to secure the first podiums. Motivated from the previous season the Austrians will start with two cars in the anticipated GT3 series. Next to new, experienced engineers and mechanics as well as the factory support of Lamborghini, there will also be changes in the driver lineup. The first car is shared by Norbert Siedler and Lamborghini factory driver Marco Mapelli. The pilots of the second car will be communicated at a later moment.

“The previous season was great”, remembers team boss Dietmar Hirsch. “With each race weekend we developed further. Of course we want to continue with this upward trend. We are excited to have Norbert on board again. But also Marco will add some valuable knowledge to the team.”

Additionally to the ADAC GT Masters the team from Austria also risks the next step to a European stage and will be participating in the Endurance Cup of the Blancpain GT Series. The race series is a completely new experience for the ambitious team. To master the transition successfully, experienced pilots will be part of the program. Bernard Delhez will be taking over the Lamborghini together with Gilles Vannelet and Dominic Jöst. Delhez as well as Vannelet have many years of experience in motorsport and will enrich HB Racing with their knowledge.

“The first year in the Blancpain GT Series will of course be very exciting and a big challenge for the entire team. But we have motivated engineers on board and experienced drivers that will support us” says Dietmar Hirsch. “A special highlight will of course be the 24h of Spa. It will be a tough race for each one of us but we are well prepared. I’d like to thank our sponsors who make this great program possible.”

HB Racing will start with the debut in the Blancpain GT Series. From April 22 to 23 the Team will be participating in the Endurance Cup in Monza. Only one week later the ADAC GT Masters season start is held at Oschersleben.
